Is there a consensus on this place? I haven't seen much publicity about this restaurant -- and in fact hadn't heard of it until recently -- but what I've seen (in the way of reviews) has been very, very positive.

As always, just looking for more good Italian in our area. Thanks in advance.

Lorica originally was on St. Charles Road in Lombard, but a divorce forced the sale of the restaurant (now occupied by Praga). The new incarnation of Lorica is next to the former Bistro Banlieue, and it has the same chef and most of the same staff as the old place. (FYI, Banlieue is now called Sequel. It's on my short list of places to try.)

I've been to the new place a few times and have thoroughly enjoyed the food, though to be honest the entree prices are too high. I was a patron of the old place and the owner and chef remembered me, so the high entree prices have been offset by my being able to bring in wine with minimal corkage.

By far the best entrees are the stuffed quail or veal chop (not on the menu, ask if they're available).
