    My nomination would have to be that cake we had at the holiday party at Ed's Potsticker House. It was as yummy looking and perfect as it was yummy to eat!!

    1.full pound of bluefin otoro sliced after hours at a friend's sushi restaurant...so deliciously fatty it looked like pork

    2.deep-fried tripe with sweet and spicy sauce and deep fried frog legs at triple crown in chinatown

    3.my boyfriend's kimchi fried rice with spam...the spam and kimchi are both slightly carmelized :)

    I know it's outside Chicagoland, and I wish had taken a photo, but the

    cider braised pork belly with chili and garlic rapini, currants, fuji apples and celery salad from Boka in Seattle.

    I have never had a dish bring tears of joy to my eyes before this.
