I will be heading to the theatre on this Friday evening. Since I will be riding the Metra to Jefferson Park and taking the Lawrence bus to the theater.

Does anyone have any recommendations of restaurants in that general vacinity where I can get a good meal (in under an hour)? Do remember that I will be on foot.

    Thanks for your help.

For everyone else's info, the theater is at Lawrence and Ashland.

You'll be within a short walk of Spaca Napoli.

    Best,
    Michael

Don't know about anyone else, but I have no idea where Chase Park Theater is located. A quick google search yields Maryland Avenue in Saint Louis, just east of Straub's. Actually, Straub's fried chicken would be a good choice for a meal in under an hour.

    Enjoy,

I've driven by it 10 times a week for the last several years. I didn't know what it was at first, either.

You're a half mile south of Andersonville, where there's lots of stuff (on Clark around Foster and continuing north), but the immediate area near Lawrence is actually kind of sparse. Spacca Napoli would be an excellent choice and, indeed, probably the closest thing that isn't Byron's Hot Dogs or Golden Nugget. Get off your Lawrence bus when you go under the train tracks at Ravenswood (near a Golden Nugget), walk south on the east side of the tracks on Ravenswood, Spacca Napoli is 3 blocks south at Sunnyside. When you're done, walk east to Ashland, north to the theater.
