Post #1 - April 19th, 2007, 9:09 amHi, I'm new here...this is my first post...well anyways i just started working on Jackson & Dearborn and I never know what to eat for lunch...what's good and CHEAP (i'm a broke college student)...usually I go to Chicken Planet but i'm sick of that already lol...some good advice would be appreciated

Post #2 - April 19th, 2007, 9:30 amI worked in that neighborhood for many years, and there are a number of people on this board who work just west of you, over by Jackson & Wacker. This thread goes back a long way, but still contains a bunch of useful information, especially in the more recent posts.

Post #4 - April 19th, 2007, 11:04 amGo just east of state street to 20 West Jackson and you'll find Fontano's subs, where you can get a pretty decent (for the Loop) Italian sub. Also, go to Wabash on the east side between Adams and Monroe and you'll find a food court with Oasis Cafe in it. That's a favorite middle eastern joint of many on this board. Both are cheap.

Post #5 - April 19th, 2007, 12:03 pmThanks for the help, guys. I ended up going to La Cocina (the one on Clark). I had the green chicken enchilada dinner. I love green enchiladas, and these were pretty good. Not as good as my mom's but hey lol...the only thing is that I took a menu with me and now that I look at it I wish I would have gotten one sope and one gordita instead....I would have saved myself a few bucks lol

I used to work in that area, and Chicken Planet and La Cocina were my usual go-tos. The Skrine Chops place (400 S. Financial) is also one of the better stops for food out there, as is Luke's Italian Beef at 215 W. Jackson.
