There was an explosion a little while ago at La Baguette Bakery In Rogers Park. El Llano is right next door. On the news, they said a shoe store and a small "Mexican" restaurant were destroyed. I am pretty sure they meant El Llano (actually Colombian) . I was just talking about getting some grilled rabbit from there .

Here's the news story that mentions the neighboring restaurant as Columbian. Sorry.

Thats very sad news. Ive been to El Llano a few times, and always enjoyed
it - was planning on going again soonish. And La Baguette (which I presume
is also destroyed, from the story) was my standard stop for churros if I
was driving by early in the mornings (theyre the only ones that opened
    particularly early I think).

Only about 2 doors away is Tamale Guerrero, another regular stop for
many LTHers. I hope they are unaffected by the fire.

I get off of the METRA train at the Rogers Park station at Lunt and saw the fire (5:30 p.m.), it was still burning. El Llano, the small Mexican bakery to the S. and a shoe store S. of the bakery were wiped-out. The fire didn't spread to the N. from what I saw, and the tamale shop looked unscathed. Not knowing the details of the fire's origin, my sense was (and is) that the fire was most intense in El Llano. The fire department dispatched a lot of equipment and it appeared that foam was used in fighting the fire in both El Llano and the bakery.
