Where do people like for Chinese delivery to Lincoln Park slash Lakeview? I'm familiar with Chinalite and Jia's, and just wondering if there are other favorites with which to "expand my horizons." (I say that somewhat facetiously, anticipating that no Chinese option in this delivery area will be all that horizon-expanding, but there might be something out there that's at least a slight change from our tried-and-true and which people like and which we haven't thought of.)

I like Chen's and Far East. Neither with blow you away, but they're better than some others that I've tried.

I like Ping Pong. More Pan-Asian than just Chinese, but has a numbere of Chinese standards. It's pricey, but delicious, and delivery is usually pretty quick.

We also order from Young's from time to time for more selection, and pretty darned good egg rolls.

    Cheers,
    Deb

    If you're still hunting:
our go-to americanized chinese place when we lived in Lakeview was Yen's on Clark--right next to the century city plaza near clark/diversey/bdwy intersection.

good food with an easy touch on the grease

I was just going to suggest Yen's. I've never had their food delivered, but they've been a regular choice for us after a late movie at the Landmark. The food is a big westernized, but not brutally so, and quite tasty. They also have a pretty good variety of non-standard dishes. I like their shrimp in lobster sauce very much, and all the food I've tried has been well-prepared.

The other night I went to see the even-more-out-there-than-most anime film Paprika at the Century, and that put me in a Japanese food frame of mind, so I started checking out the sushi places nearby there to see if any of them looked decent--

--and somehow I found myself sitting at Yen's for Chinese a few minutes later. I don't know, something about the stucco walls and the weird-shaped room and the general lost-in-1967 vibe appealed to me. I just had to hope that the classic Ameri-Chinese didn't totally suck.

And it didn't! It was totally okay! Downright satisfying in a revoke-my-LTH-Chinese-food-snob's-card way. Lemon chicken, big fried chunks, sticky sweet sauce, snow white rice; hot and sour soup with a little commercial beef broth note to it but the right vinegary bite and crunchy bits of water chestnut or something that hadn't been turned to mush. Given that there's nothing really, objectively good in that area that I can think of, I think Yen's may well be the guilty pleasure I've been looking for in that area. I can hardly wait to go back for General Tso's Chicken.
