Does anyone have recent experience here?It was at one time Stacks and Steaks. On Clark near Devon. We used to frequent them but I have not been there in at least a year.My usual was the Mexican skillet. When they changed to Deluxe Diner ,the preparation seemed to have change.

I am not fat,I'm a body of knowledge.

I've been once about three months ago. It was not good. I just had eggs and toast and the eggs were overcooked and the toast was like a wet newspaper. If that's deluxe, I'll just take the basic model.

I do not know if you were there also when it was Stacks and Steaks but your experience is similiar to my last visit. When I was there most recently, the beans were so thick I could have laid bricks with them.

The only reason MENSA would knock on my door is if they started selling Girl Scout cookies.

I think I've read that this place (and Maria's, the pizza joint next door) are actually owned and operated by Leona's. I don't think Deluxe Diner is as bad as Corner Grille, say, but it's essentially my go-to place if and only if I've run out of breakfast ingredients, I'm not in the mood to cook, and I'm not that far from it. (That actually happened a few weeks ago, and indeed the place was just OK.)

They're O.K. if you just want some breakfast grub. Their hamburgers are very dry and tasteless. They're owned by Leona's. The bathrooms are nicer than when it was Stacks and Steaks.
