Another thing not to get was the giant pork tenderloin sandwich. It is made with ground pork and mine had pieces of bone in it and no flavor. I gave most of it to my daughter. She liked it. I've got to remember not to get it next year. I wish I could find the vendor who used to be at Itascafest and sold Texas tenderloins that were very thin, very tasty, and were a foot in diameter. I would fold in quarters to fit on the bun and get four crispy, tasty pieces in each bite.
We did enjoy the carne asada gordita from Alex's. The gordita was split on one side and the juicy steak and other ingredients were in the pocket pita-style. Two for 5 bucks. Does anybody know if he has a restaurant in the area?
Rib tips at Hillery's were pretty good. Eating them on the nearby bench was a little awkward, what with the slices of bread in a plastic bag, the bones, the few napkins, and no wipes.
Next year, in addition to Alex's and Hillery's, I'll have to try the corn dogs, the bible gyros, and the elotes.
