Chickies for sale

Went to Chickies beef stand the other day and noticed a FOR SALE-BUSINESS AND PROPERTY sign out front. I asked one of the employee if it was true and he said it was up for sale.

Chickie's is for sale, as we learned on the Beef A Thon Finals. Though Chickie was quite specific that he's "just sticking his toe in the water."

Evidently Chickie has a bit more than his toe in the water. I had lunch there today and he told me that it's nearly a done deal. He's selling the place to the family of one of the guys that works there (I wasn't clear which one it was). Evidently, the entire staff will stay on. The new owner lives directly next door in the house across the parking lot, so there is hope that Chickie's will remain unchanged and continue to be one of the top beefs in the city for some time to come. As Chickie cautioned me, there's always a chance the deal will fall apart, what with lenders being skittish these days.
