News about Hot Doug's for real?

Post #1 - November 21st, 2004, 2:02 pmSomeone on CH has posted that Hot Doug's will re-open Jan. 2005 at California and Roscoe.
His evidence? He works at Midway Games across the street, and saw a notice in the building that said Hot Doug's was establishing gas service in what I think might be the former Papa George's location.
This sounds pretty convincing, and I'm looking forward to seeing them come back ASAP.

Hot Doug's -- Your longing for those duck-fat fries is about to end: After closing earlier this year due to a fire, encased-meat purveyor Doug Sohn of Hot Doug's says he's ready to make a comeback. The new shop is scheduled to open at 3324 N. California Ave. (a half-block west of the original location) in January. Look for expanded seating indoors and summer patio tables in the warmer months.
