I recall with great fondness going to the Swedish Smorgasbord restaurant in the Evergreen Park neighborhood. It was near the Evergreen Park Mall. That restaurant is now long gone. But does anyone know of any Swedish smorgasbord restaurants anywhere in the greater Chicagoland area?

I seem to vaguely remember this place from my childhood. My grandfather lived in the Beverly neighborhood and I remember us visiting there a couple times.

I have no idea if there's another one of these around anymore I googled a bit and didn't find mention of one in the Chicago area. Maybe someone else here will have more to contribute than I can. :)

Don't know about any ongoing smorgasbords, but at Christmas time Tre Kroner does a Julbord. It has been discussed at: http://www.lthforum.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=10775&highlight=tre+kroner

I attended a couple of years ago with family and we quite enjoyed it.

Where there’s smoke, there may be salmon.
