Post #1 - December 10th, 2004, 3:29 pmI was just on 18th Street and saw that Polo, the little norteo restaurant with wonderful handmade flour tortillas, looked all locked up. Anyone know what's up with them? I hope they haven't closed!

Post #2 - December 10th, 2004, 3:53 pmHaving just read the sad news about Shawarma King and its owner, I am doubly upset at this news. The couple that run/ran Polo are not ancient but not all that young either. Their little restaurant is one of my favourites in Pilsen... those lardy, hand-made flour tortillas.... those delicious albondigas... that nicely balanced guisado de puerco with red chiles...
I hope they were just taking a day off to eat latkes or Flammekuche

Post #3 - December 10th, 2004, 5:00 pmI had lunch at Polo yesterday (Thursday) and it was very much open. There was no indication that anything was up. The flour tortillas were, as always, the highlight.
