I am going to Katsu tomorrow night for a 'special occasion' dinner and so am not too concerned about spending $50-$60 person on quality sushi but I am a pretty big eater and want to have a satisfying meal without completely breaking the bank. I am looking strictly at sashimi and nigiri with maybe 1-2 rolls depending on what's available. If I went all off the a--la-carte with o-toro, sea scallop, tasmanian salmon, hamachi, etc. which I would love to do I would have to put a second mortgage on my house to eat the amount that would satisfy me. Is the chef's special sushi/sashimi enough food for 1 person with a big appetite or what would someone recommend for the best 'bang for your buck' but getting the quality and obscurites that Katsu offers?
