LTHForum,
Skewers Grill, a relatively new Middle Eastern restaurant in the heart of Lincoln Square, was pleasant on all accounts.
Skewers Grill
Informed attentive service, comfortable seating, Gypsy Kings on the speakers, no corkage fee, free WiFi and quite nice food.
Quite nice? Not much of a descriptor. Truthfully, I am having trouble enthusing about our meal, with the exception of one dish everything was straight from the Chicago Middle Eastern playbook, albeit slightly above average.
Stuffed Falafel stood out, along with a couple of well priced Kids Meals of juicy grilled chicken fingers, from the pack. Large, crisp falafel dotted with exterior pine nuts and interior of sweetly caramelized onions.

Lamb Skewers
Reasonably priced ($6.95) daily special of grilled eggplant on rice with tomato and onion sauce was a bit nondescript, blanket of neutral flavored tomato sauce serving to mask as opposed to enhance flavor.

Overall I liked Skewers Grill and got a really good vibe from the people, place and attention to detail. I hope they do well in a somewhat ill fated spot, but with the plethora of less expensive popping with flavor Middle Eastern restaurants less than a mile West on Kedzie Ave they may have a tough go.
Enjoy,
Gary
