Stonewall grill is a relatively new spot located at 2200 block of Lincoln. I had been meaning to try it out for a while. A sign on the front window boasts "everything is made fresh to order, taste the difference" and after reading a few reviews on yelp that praised the burger and fresh cut fries it was time to finally give it a try. To be fair it was my first visit, maybe they switched things.
Rant
When you tell me that everything is "fresh made to order" than it damn well better be. Ok so the fries were fresh cut, but they weren't fully cooked and tasted as bland as fresh cut fries can.
My problem is with the stupid person taking orders, maybe the owner. WTF are you doing asking me how I want my burger done? When I ordered a burger here yesterday the guy taking my order asked me how I wanted it done...I said medium rare and was surprised that he had asked, so I looked at them prepare it. The grill man takes one of those off colored thin red patty's and throws it on the grill, I should of said something right there but I didnt want an argument. I requested my cheeseburger with mustard, onions and pickles, instead of telling me they dont have sliced pickles he just throws a pickle spear from the dogs on my burger, it gets worse, the spear is not of the dill variety but a canned bread and butter pickle that im assuming also goes on the "Chicago" style dogs, also listed to include ketchup?!?!?!?!
All that garbage for $6.50 w/o drink was as disappointing a meal I have had this year. I guess I shouldn't have gone in expecting a real hand made burger, cooked fresh to order along with some fresh cut fries.
This place is BS and it will be gone as quick as the other spots that once rested there.
