There are only a couple of brief mentions of Bryn Mawr Deli here, and I think this place deserves its own thread. We moved to Edgewater about eight months ago and have been to Bryn Mawr Deli about a dozen times and they haven't disappointed yet.

I usually get a tuna sandwich or a panini. Reza, the owner, makes a real nice tuna salad. Today he was out and made a new batch in right in front of us, and it's just like you might do at home: chunk white tuna, freshly chopped green onions, fresh dill, lemon juice, sprinklings of spices included a dash of cayenne pepper and just a touch of mayo. End result is real nice--I like mine with giardiniera as well.

Reza is always giving away freebies as well--today it was a cup of soup, a hearty turkey chili.

BMD might even be good enough to consider a destination spot if you are craving a hand-crafted sandwich or panini. It's definitely a jewel in the neighborhood--good food and personable service. I hope Reza is around for a long time.

I recently visited Bryn Mawr Deli for the first time. I was also impressed by the very personalized/friendly service. Reza seemed to know everyone there. I had a delicious, fresh turkey/bacon panini, along with a few of Reza's homemade grape leaves. This place is designed for you to sit an stay a while, including shelves with books for you to read.
