In a day and age where there's a Starbucks around every corner, it's nice to find small family owned bakery/cafe. "Sweet Dreams" bakery in Glenview was a nice change from the norm. Plush couches, arm chairs, and a fireplace give this place a warm cozy feel. All the pastry's are made from scratch and 100% organic. Honestly, I could care less if they're organic, I just want them to taste good. Actually, they taste really good. Apple and cheese struedal were flaky and delicious while the blue berry tart was bursting with fresh blueberries. They have a full line of coffee and tea, and I enjoyed an excellent cup of white tea. They actually do serve lunch items, I enjoyed the chicken sandwich with a creamy avacodo spread. Service has always been friendly, Mary the owner is there six days a week and walks the dining room regularly.

It is nice to see someone posting on this nice small business. I completely agree that they have gone out of their way to create a nice cozy atmosphere with welcoming employees. My wife is always concerned about organics and healthy food and here we can get that without sacrificing flavor. Whether it is the excellent fruit and nut filled muffins or the soups at lunch I have never had anything here that wasn't really good.

That looks good- any idea what their hours are, roughly- i.e., do they close mid-afternoon or would they be open for dinner?
