My weekly Friday lunch: Tensuke Market in Arlington Heights

Gotta say that this place is awesome. Better than being a small version of the mighty Mitsuwa just a mile away, Tensuke Market has a little food court area which consistently delivers good quality sushi and sushi dishes at incredible prices. They also periodically have new dishes such as "Volcano Don" which is lightly-seared whina tuna with fish roe and lots of spicy tuna on a bed of rice, giving the illusion of a volcano eruption. All for $14.95.

I try to go there every week for lunch.

I happened to be there Friday at lunch. I went to Jarosch's bakery with a friend who was getting a shower cake. I only went because I wanted to run down to Tensuke and grab some sushi. I haven't been there in a long while and boy what a difference. It was very impressive. Unfortunately, there was a line with about 20 people ordering sushi and I had to leave empty handed as well as broken hearted!! but I will be back!!

For others who are looking for it, I'll point out that Tensuke is on Arlington Heights Road but actually in Elk Grove.

Tensuke's food court closes for a break between 2 - 4 PM at least on weekdays.
