I drive by this place a lot but haven't eaten there in over a year, perhaps I am still upset that the same owner/chef Francois Sanchez switched from Spanish tapas, which I loved to French cuisine, which is so so for me. For some reason, I have had lunch at Chez Francois the last 2 Saturdays and will go back for more. Last week I had the special which was a crab cake about the size of a good sized hamburger with a wonderful sauce and lovely arrangement of vegetables that tasted of pure butter, which was good. The crab cake had a generous amount of very flavorful crab, the whole plate was very artful and tasty. My SO is vegetarian but will eat fish and had the appetizer of crab stuffed tomatoes for an entree which also had a generous amount of crab. Today we went back with a friend. My SO had the prix fixe menu which was a special today. Salad or a white bean with sausage soup first and then a crepe generously filled with chunks of lobster, crab and shrimp as the entree. The dessert for the prix fixe meal was a deep red rasberry sorbet that had a hint of current and topped with mixed berries. Thie prix fixe meal was $15. Our friend had, well I forgot the French name, but it was also a special but amounted to a puffed pastry filled with ham, cream chesse and mixed grilled vegetables. I had the least stellar steak frittes which was good but I should have gone for some of the other choices on the menu that were a little more unusual. The service is good, everyone is very nice and greets you as you enter and thanks you when you leave, a big thing anymore, it seems genuine. Lunch for the 3 of us today was $45 which I thought reasonable for the quality.
