Rosh Hashanah out in Northern Burbs? Where to go?

So here's the issue.
Looking for a place to eat Rosh Hashanah dinner out in the DF-HP area, or "not too far"
Mom and Dad are both dealing with limited mobility, and I am working all day Monday and
if I can't find a suitable option will cook over the weekend and maybe get a server-helper for Monday night dinner, but how tiring...

Max and Benny's -I have found their food to be very ...dissapointing and their service to be beyond horrid.
Max's I don't mind so much but the parent's don't like it.

What other places are out there that do the Holiday dinner thing that folks have found to be good?

How about what take outs have you used that have been good?
For take outs- even down to Niles is OK, because I work down that way...

My family has planned a Rosh Hashana dinner at DiPescara. I do not recommend following suit.

What about The Bagel in Old Orchard- we went there for Passover last year and it was pretty good.

Although I have never tried it I saw an ad for Elegance in Meat that showed a Rosh Hashonah dinner same with Sunset Foods. This might be an option if you decide to stay at home.

I have has Elegance in Meat for lunch, both their sandwiches and daily hot menu and that was good.

As it's evolving, it's looking like cooking on the weekend, but having a helper to serve and do the dishes...
roped in again...
The worst part is always the 1/2 of the family that's Vegetarian,
so we end up with like 3 entrees and 6 side dishes
it get tiresome....
with my kids I'm more a tough love mom-
eat whats on the table or there's the kitchen and the peanut butter
however the sib is more an indulger....
oh well....

I would try George's What's Cooking. They have a full Rosh Hashanah menu, and they are pretty good middle of the road deli. The owners are a Greek/Jewish couple so they have both ends covered of the traditional diner/deli. I think they are heads and shoulders above either Max's or Max & Benny's. Don't even talk to me of The Bagel - I am not a fan.

Also if you are interested in hosting dinner and bringing in food, most of the local Jewel's and Dominick's have carry-out food. Sunset Market is another place to try.

Just to be clear, George's is NOT kosher. I would not even assume that they are Kosher-style. If you want true Kosher food, the Jewel in Highland Park or on Howard in Evanston will prepare a carry-out Kosher meal. Or you can try Now We're Cooking Grill in Highland Park.

My family had Passover at George's What's Cooking in Deerfield last spring (this is what happens when I refuse to host) and I thought the food there was truly awful -- cloyingly sweet apricot chicken, rubbery brisket and supremely bland sides. And while the service was fine, I felt like they oversold it a bit. The restaurant was uncomfortably crowded.

I do, however, like the food very much at Now We're Cooking Grill in Highland Park. My office carries out lunch from there a few times a month and I think that their quality is high and their food is pretty tasty. Of course, the catering menu for the high holidays is going to differ from the everyday lunch menu but I think their fundamentals are relatively sound.

I realize George's isn't Kosher- Kosher isn't an issue for us,
thankfully it would certainly add another layer of fun on top of the vegetarian issues...
But I do think I am going to fill in with sides from the HP Jewel,
(or the Jewish Jewel as we call it around here)
I find there stuff is actually very good, maybe because it is Kosher,
which is not a turn-off even if it's not a requirement
(is that too convoluted??)
I made the honey cake tonight and it turned out really good, althought I couldn't help myself,
I had to add some diced caramelized apples
after going out this weekend and picking half a bushel of falls wonderfulness
with my twins...
Galas and Cortlands and Honeycrisp, oh my!
(the cortlands went into the Honeycake...)

Just wanted to second Elegance in Meat and also offer Garden Fresh as a grocery option. I've had a number of their hot foods and they're pretty good. I'm also getting a ton of mail (e and snail) about catering places; may be a little short notice for RH but for a break-fast....

I'm putting Costco lamb chops on the grill Monday night, small group this year.
