Recommendations near Horner Park?

My brother lives near Horner Park and I am coming from Seattle to visit. He seems a little weak on the restaurant recommendations, however. Any suggestions? Sometimes we'll be adults, sometimes with families (it's a little reunion). I'd love to eat some authentic Chicago Italian place with noise and great food...or without noise and great food. But anything near the area would do. Thanks!

Less than three miles away is a great, old-school Italian American place - Sabatino's - an LTH Great Neighborhood Restaurant. It serves Chicago-originated dishes like Chicken Vesuvio and Shrimp DeJonghe, amid tuxedoed waitstaff and strolling musicians. Sounds like it could meet your needs pretty well.

Horner Park is close to the Lincoln Square neighborhood (head east on Montrose for about a half mile to Lincoln Avenue). There are many good restaurants in Lincoln Square. Go to google and type "site:lthforum.com Lincoln Square".

Both are moderately upscale and both have great outdoor dining areas, should the weather cooperate.

You will also be very close to many excellent Thai restaurants, including Spoon Thai and Sticky Rice (both are GNR award winners).

Horner Park is a reasonably short drive to many other great neighborhoods, including Roscoe Village, Andersonville, and Lake View. If there are other types of food you are interested in, let us know.

For some additional non-Italian suggestions, I would recommend a quick jaunt south on Cailfornia to either Hot Doug's or Kuma's.
