I used to love going the The Garden Buffet, in fact, that's how I found this site. There was an LTH gathering there one night I was there and I was intrigued. The BBQ Buffet is great, lots of food, but there is so much more to Korean food then just the BBQ.

For traditional Korean table service, Oh Bok Jung, 5819 Dempster St Morton Grove, IL is FANTASTIC! I think you all will really enjoy it. Instead of the BBQ, they serve traditional Korean entrees and also these table top Jung gols, a type of soup that is cooked that the table.

We have eaten Korean all over the city, our first date 20 years ago was for Korean food, and hands down, I think Oh Bok Jung is the BEST!

Thought I would share this, as I love reading the recommendations from others![/b]

That's a great stretch of Dempster for Korean. I've eaten at Willow Tree (it looks like it might have been an IHOP or Denny's in a former life) and thought it was very good - generous with the banchan.

There are several other Korean places in that stretch, but they tend to be small and easy to miss.

Bi beem bap and accompanying panchan at Willow Tree House: an embarrasing amount of food for one person, but I ate quite a lot of it (I especially liked the smoky-sweet chickpeas)

Someday, someday I want to eat at a place before NR706!

I agree, nr706, that within that stretch of Dempster the Korean food is an authentic, healthy & quick-serving little bit lf heaven.

On my way to meeting a buddy at the Blackhawks game last night, I needed a spot to eat quickly, near the Edens, and not fast food. I nipped on over to the Korean Restaurant (5707 W. Dempster) for a bibim bap. In & out the door in 25 minutes, and that was while reading the paper.

It was a beautiful thing, and I'm even starting to like Korean opera on TV.
