Dinner near Belmont and Broadway

After an exhaustive search on Yelp for restaurants near this intersection, I'm still at a loss.

I'm looking for a casual place that's open tonight around 6:30 for 2 people. I don't mind bars/pubs. I don't really want Thai or sushi. Just something lowkey with better than decent food.

I'll have a car, but don't want to stray too far from this area.

Any suggestions?

Try Chili Mac's 5-Way Chili. Good solid food and margaritas.

Wilde is very solid with better than average food and above average pricing. Good value however.

TAC Quick is just 3-5 minutes away in a car on Sheridan under the brown line stop. The Mexican restaurant under the same stop also does above average tacos al pastor and a great goat gordita.

Hope this helps even if you might not want Thai.

There are lots of places near Addison & Southport, that's only about a mile northwest. Sushi, Cajun, Argentinian, Julius Meinlian, Latin Fusion, and more. Also the Uncommon Ground is a nice casual joint at Grace & Clark.

I had lunch at Wilde last summer and found it disappointing on all fronts (service, food, cost, beer), with the exception of the space, which is very nice looking. Whenever I'm at Broadway and Belmont and want cheap, the Bagel and Stella's Diner are my two favorites. But I'm surprised no one mentioned the awesome duo of Ping Pong and Wakamono, which are just a few blocks north (no more than a 5-7 minute walk). Wakamono remains my favorite sushi place in town - they have inventive rolls, amazing and unique small plates, and though they've added a corkage fee to their byo ($5), the new wine list is cheap and decent. I haven't been to the Asian-fusion Ping Pong across the street in a while, but they have all the usual Amero-asian classics done up fresh in an environment that looks like a gay Apple store.
Don't forget to get ice cream at the little candy shop 1/2 block south when you're done.

Is there not a Mexican place just south of Belmont on Clark? Never been there myself but every time I walk past it seems packed.

Where did you go and how was it?

I ended up at Wilde.

I was pretty happy overall. Parking is a nightmare over there, but that was expected I suppose.

It's nice that they offer specials because I wasn't sure I wanted anything off the regular menu.

I ended up having chicken and arugula quesadillas and seafood chowder. Both were good.

I have to say I was very impressed with the space. One, I had no idea how big it was and two, the decor and feel of it was surprising...almost like The Berkhoff.

Glad it worked out. I wasn't terribly impressed with the food at the Wilde the one time I visited, but the space is impressive.
