Any suggestions for a nice, intimate place in the city to grab dinner for less than $50 per person? BYOB is not a necessity, but I'd like to keep the tab under $100 with drinks. I could really care less about what kind of cuisine they serve, so long as it's good. Is Katsu do-able for under $100?

I'm not crazy about fondue or crepes myself, but people always seem to name them when looking for romantic options. Geja's is an established classic for fondue and La Creperie on Clark has also been around forever. Both are very well-regarded and should tally less than fifty bucks/person.

Le Bouchon has a $22 fixed price menu on Tuesday nights, which will keep costs down.

In fact, I'd seek out fixed price deals to keep it reasonable and leave plenty of room for buying booze. Buena Terra, for example, offers three courses for around $20 on Thursdays.

Sunshine Cafe: way less than $100 for two for great food in a cozy setting, leaving plenty of wallet room for a stroll over to Natalina for dessert.

For some reason, Italian restaurants evoke feelings of intimacy for us (must be a holdover from Lady & The Tramp). The three below will probably keep you under $100, depending on how much you drink.

Via Veneto's website frequently offers modest discounts and coupons that can help.
