I have quickly become a regular at Miss Asia. Located at 434 W. Diversey in Lakeview, it features an extensive Thai menu. (One of the co-owners also owns the ever-popular Thai restaurant, Sticky Rice.) There are also smaller menus featuring cuisine from China, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Nepal, the Phillipines, Singapore & Malaysia, and Vietnam!
I have been very impressed that Miss Asia succeeds at all of these cuisines. I've gradually been making my way across each menu and have really enjoyed everything that I have eaten. In terms of appetizers, I am addicted to the lumpia and the crab rangoon. In addition to being delicious, the food is also beautiful. They have a "Coconut Green Curry Shrimp" on the Thai menu that is served in a fresh coconut shell. The Cambodian "Beef in Tamarind Curry" is prettily presented in a pumpkin. The Beef Minudo from the Filipino menu, a much simpler dish, is my current go-to comfort food.
It is a lot of fun to bring a group of friends here. That way, you can order a bunch of dishes from the different countries and share them. Miss Asia would also be a great place for a date. The space is both sleekly designed and relaxed. It's BYOB and very affordable. (For those on a budget, they also have a great economy lunch.)
One idea ... if you are near Landmark Century Cinemas and want to do dinner-and-a-movie, Miss Asia is just a few blocks from the movie theater.
