LaVilla - My Fav. I have been going to this restaurant since high school. I even had my wedding reception there. Moved out to the far western burbs about 15 years ago. Before that we were city people all the way - born and raised. Chris and her staff make this place feel like home. I don't think I have ever been in there and ordered anything off the menu. That used to drive my husband nuts. I just used to ask what was good tonight and they would let me know what pastas or steaks or veal were flying out of the kitchen. I used to tell them, okay. I'll have that with a side of king crab legs. God, I can't wait to get back in the city. LaVilla still remembers us when we walk in but are totally shocked when they see my 14 year old son walk in with us. Time flys but some things stay the same. Thank goodness!
Sabatinos, real good too. Lived right down the block. However, my whole family would really feel weird when the strolling people would come and sing to us. Grew up very blue collar and I know my dad liked to go out but there is a fine line in telling when someone is uncomfortable or not. I always knew my dad felt uncomfortable so after he passed we never went back.
