I have friend coming to visit Chi town who says he had some really good chicken pot pie near Wriggleville a while back. Does anyone know what restaurant he's referring to?

This is how he describes the interior of the restaurant:

    Classy
    White tablecloths
    A candle on each table
    Red carpet
A wall with a long mirror on it

Does this ring a bell to anyone?

If not, who do you think has the best chicken pot pie in town?

    Thanks!!

It's not technically Wrigleyville, but he might be talking about Jack's 404 Wine bar.

Jack's does have pretty darn good pot pie if my memory serves. Cullen's on Southport also serves it. Pretty good there too, though not quite as good as Jack's.

I wandered-about Southport Ave. a couple of weekends ago and stopped at Cullen's, and tried the Chicken Pot Pie. The serving was large, the vegetables fresh and the chicken good . . . though I wished there had been been more of it (the chicken, that is).

I had a similar rendition of the pot pie at Charlie's Ale House (on Navy Pier) this past Sunday afternoon, but I'd rate what I ate at Cullen's higher.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

There is certainly nothing wrong with that. In fact, I cannot think of a kind of pie that I don't like.
