I've been waiting for this place to open for a while now and as I was driving by today, I say that it was! It's right next to Tabaq (
http://www.lthforum.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=19594&hilit=tabaq). I don't know it there is any affiliation or not.
The menu is short but they've got all the basics covered: beef & chicken kabobs, beef & chicken shawerma, kafta kabobs, hummus, baba ganouj, fatoosh, etc. What got me excited though, was the sight of the 2 spits/rotisseries packed with layers of beef/lamb on one and chicken on the other. There was a third rotisserie of gyros but that did not excite me at all. It reminded me of the set up at Shawerma King way back when.
I went with the beef shawerma plate. Bits of beef sliced off the spit, charred edges and all. The meat was a bit on the dry side but really tasty. It was served on a bed of yellow basmati rice with a little ramekin of a garlicky yogurt-based sauce. It hit the spot and I plan on returning. The plate was $8.
