i'm hungry and want to order delivery from Tac Quick (unless in your wisdom and experience you think that one of the other members of the three-headed-monster (spoon, sticky rice) would be better). I am looking for dinner for 1 with leftovers to snack on thru the weekend. Spicy is good. Only thing I don't love are bell peppers.

    And....GO!!!

    Thank you

have pity on a poor sick gal...I would still really like to try Tac Quick. I used the site to come up with a great order from Spoon last week but I'm holding out for the Tac Quick recommendations tonite. What shouldn't I miss? What will hold up for delivery??

Reading to various TAC Quick threads should give you a pretty good idea of what to order. Are there any dishes in particular that you are curious about?

ok, I did some more searchin' --this took a while (VERY long thread with a lot of verbal sparring and some good food info (ahhh LTH, gotta love ya!)--and this is what I came up with.

Keeping in mind I have a pretty bad cold so going for "comfort":

    Crispy On Choy
    Pork Neck Larb
Basil duck or kũay tĩaw reua (spicy rice noodle soup with tender beef, beef balls, beansprouts and Chinese broccoli)

Idea is to order enough to have for a couple of meals since I don't think I'll be going anywhere tomorrow either :D

    Thoughts?

The crispy on choy might not be a "takeout" star. I'd also guess that it would not be a great "next day" food, either.

I was curious how it would travel as well but it arrived perfectly light and crispy--I don't think it could have been crispier if I'd eaten it there! It definitely helped that they packaged the fried pieces separately from everything else. I'm not that worried about tomorrow--even a little soggy, those fried bits are going to be pretty tasty I think!

Loved everything. Someone mentioned in the thread how the duck fat (from the basil duck) mingles in with the rice and "melts" the jalapenos...very true and very delicious. The only item that didn't travel that well (but was still very tasty) was the pork neck larb... I thought this toughened up a bit in transit--I loved the sauce that came with it (also served on the side).

All in all, not just a good meal but surprisingly well done delivery which is almost an oxymoron...

I feel better already  That and the half bottle of Tylenol Cold Nighttime that I chugged along with my food...who needs Riesling???

I am a little late to the conversation but I would like to add that when you're feeling crappy and wanting Thai, the Tom Yum/Tom Kai, shoot any of the soups, are super glorious for clearing your head. It sounds like you are much more familiar with Thai food than I am but whenever my husband feels like his head is going to "explode" we order the Tom Yum (extra spicy).

    Hope you are feeling better!
