Vinothai's, St Charles

Vinothai's is one of a number of Ameri-Thai restaurants in the Geneva/St. Charles area. We went there for the second time this weekend. The restaurant was doing a brisk business for lunch Saturday, a far cry from the first time, where only one other table was taken when we walked in.

Solid renditions of both pad thai and pad kar prao (basil chicken). They offer a choice of five different spice levels. I ordered the basil chicken extra hot, and luckily it did deliver. Sinus-clearing without overwhelming, the chicken was chopped finely and incorporated into a sauce with red & green bell peppers and jalapenos. A hit of basil in many of the bites, but it was a little hard to find at times. I was happy with this dish.

We also ordered mango with sticky rice, which was good but would have benefitted from fresher fruit.
