It's big, it's meaty, it's wrapped in bacon. Behold Klopa's half-kilo "big cevap."

I believe that's "smoked peasant meat" also on the platter. I thought a couple appetizers were the highlight of the meal however.

I really liked the house made urnebes, a puree of red peppers and some feta-like cheese (in metal dish). Also their ajvar (not shown) is very good. Fresh, springy loaves of lepinja make a perfect vehicle for the spreads.

I'm interested in trying Klopa again but would probably go lighter on the grilled meats (not very exciting). I'd like to see how they do with soups (especially fish, lamb or bean) and stuffed entrees (peppers, cabbage or grape leaves). And I'm curious about their wedding cabbage, sort of a Serbian choucroute garni.

I'd provide a link to their website but when I tried to look at the menu I got a malware warning.

Thanks for the post. Looks worth a visit...I can almost smell grilled meats in my future! The apps sound quite intriguing as well and soups from that region are always likely to be excellent. Too bad about the menu link. Guess that forces a visit.

I forgot to mention it's also stuffed with ham and Swiss cheese (both sort of disappear during cooking). Here's a picture of the Big Cevap oozing melted cheese.

Where do you suppose they store the peasants until they are ready to smoke them?
