Barack & Michelle Obama's preferred ice cream in Chicago

This is one of the oddest visitor requests I've ever gotten. My sister's friend will be in town tomorrow and specifically asked about a place that POTUS & FLOTUS shared their ice cream.

A quick search gave me an early date & Baskin-Robbins. I don't think that's what the visitor is interested in.

Anyone else know about the ice cream preferences?

Although apparently he used to eat at Medici down in Hyde Park, and they serve ice cream (including what sounds like a very good Mexican Chocolate milkshake), so maybe that can count?

They're out of luck. The Hyde Park Baskin-Robbins became a Subway before it could be converted into any sort of shrine. Lots of folks ask about it, because it's supposedly where they had their first kiss.

I'd suggest gelato at Istria instead.
