    Dddane,

The portion of fried lobster you see in my CoCo's picture upthread was $10.50 and the counter woman specifically said the meat came from tails.

    CoCo's (4.3.08 )

It's a shame Coco's feels the need to push fried lobster, their worst and most expensive dish.

I think Coco's is a good burger joint, maybe even excellent when you factor in price and its loop location. I've enjoyed a couple hamburgers at Coco's but as Gary mentions the turkey burger is the star of the show.

Standing Room Only, a few blocks away, is often justly praised for turkey burgers.

According to A Native's Guide to Chicago, Mayor Daley called it the "best turkey burger in Chicago" and former Governor Edgar rated it the "best turkey burger in Illinois." I like SRO just fine but can't help but wonder how much its owner has donated to political campaigns. I also wonder if either Daley or Edgar ever had a turkey burger from Coco's or That's-A-Burger ("Best turkey burger in the United States" – Rene G). Whatever the politicians say, I find Coco's to be bigger, tastier and cheaper than SRO's ($4.75 w/fries vs $5.25 w/o).

Loop lunchers ought to try Coco's burgers (preferably a turkey burger with grilled onions) before dismissing the place.

I got sucked in the by the deep fried lobster signs out front. As previously noted there is no discernible lobster flavor, though the breading is good. My friends ordered the fish sandwich and the chicken sandwich and they felt like they were a pretty good value. Can't say the same for the lobster. Just another data point.
