I recently had lunch at Chi Dogs, a new hot dog place in Bridgeview. I was in Wal-Mart and came out to find a flyer on my car. The flyer advertised fresh cut fries so I decided to check it out. I'm happy I did. They have a small focused menu with only hot dogs, polishes, and tamales if I recall correctly. I ordered a hot dog which came with mustard, onions, relish, and sport peppers. Excellent hot dog cooked perfectly. Fries came wrapped together with/on hot dog. Fries were cooked perfectly. Right before crispy, but not soggy or limp. The person working the counter let me know they have been open since July 15. I'd recommend anybody that is in the mood for a hot dog in that area to give them a try.

This DUMP closed a few months ago. I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. It was run by people (mostly teens) that couldn't care less about the business or product. It was an Al's Beef franchise about 3 different times before they finally threw in the towel last year.

After a quick search, Duke's appears to be one of the places to get a good hot dog in the area.

    Any other recommendations?

Duke's is one of my favorite family owned local fast food places.Been around forever but unfortunately business has dropped big time over the last few years. They used to host antique cars shows that brought it lots of customers but business has slowed.

As for the Hot Dogs, well, they are decent. Typical "Chicago Style" (sometimes sitting in the water a little too long) 8:1 David Bergs :|

For a good dog in the somewhat immediate area, I have to say your limited to Portillo's at Archer/Harlem

But their Italian Beefs are one of the best on the SW Side/ Burbs. A great alternate when I don't feel like trekking all the way to Johnnie's
