We're going tonight, I'll try to remember to post a review after I return.
It's walking distance fom my house, so if nothing else will be easy to get to.
EDIT:
Diner tonight was very good. Everything was very well prepared and presented. My main complaint is that portions are small. I know we're used to Chicago dining, home of oversized entrees, but the portions here were definitely smaller than I've seen in restaurants of comparable quality and price point.
Portion size also varied significantly depending on which entree was ordered. We were a party of four. One of us ordered the steak, and it was pretty large. Another of us ordered the guinea hen roulade, and was served three small medallions about as big as a silver dollar, and about 1/3 inch thick. There were no sides with this dish, just a couple of morels and some sauces, so he left hungry.
I ordered the sturgeon. It was very good, and came with a side of pureed root vegetable. It was larger than the guinea hen roulade, smaller than the steak. I left full, but just barely.
Three of us ordered the roasted corn soup. It was delicious, but was served with a scallop cheviche that we all agreed did not match well with the soup. It was also a very small serving-it was a large bowl, but there was literally only 7 spoons full of soup in it.
Entrees are in the $22-26 range. Soup was $9.00. Appetizers $12-15.
The restaurant is very nicely decorated, but a very small room. Only about 10 tables. When we arrived there was only one table occupied, but it quickly filled. Once full, it was very noisy and difficult to hear. They might want to consider something to dampen the sound, that so few people could create so much noise with just normal conversation was surprising.
Overall, I'd probably go back, but only for a special occasion. The food was delicious, but prices need to come down, or portions increased.
