Best Chicken Soup in Evanston/Skokie?

Any ideas? I noticed that Ben Tre makes a Chicken Corn Soup and Pho Ga that has chicken instead of beef...anyone try these before or have other recommendations?

Not exactly Evanston/Skokie, but just a few yards south of Evanson, Deta makes incredibly fresh, rich chicken soup.

bat 17 has a decent variety, I might be biased though since the only times I buy chicken soup instead of made it myself is when I'm sick. they don't seem to make new batches when they run out though, so sometimes they run out by dinner time.

fighting an awful cold and only the Bagel's Mish Mash chicken soup will do. Not sure how they get the broth to that particular hue of technicolor yellow (or if I want to) but a quart of broth and a separate quart of rice, kasha, noodles, kreplach and matzo balls provides several healing meals. It's not grandma's but it will do the trick. I think I need to go refill my bowl.

I went to Deta's first, but apparently someone walked out with all the last of her soup. But I'll be back soon...she had me at "do you like pie?"
Next stop was Ben Tre. I was all set to try The Bagel, but I didn't have time to get there and back. I ordered the Pho Ga and a Durian smoothie...that should get rid of any possible cooties. This soup is outstanding, and I'll have enough for probably two more meals. The smoothie...well, onions never done me wrong.

Okay, so it didn't last for two more meals. And this smoothie is growing on me. Like a cross between cream, honey and onions.

Yep, Ben Tre's pho, no matter what kind, is restorative. And...I know it's not chicken, but Patty's Diner usually has a perfectly serviceable soup daily, my fave being beef barley.

My favorite soup in the whole world is the tom kha gai at Thai Sookdee in downtown Evanston. I don't ask for it extra spicy or mild, I just order it, and it comes out nicely spicy (although if you don't like spicy food, you might want to ask for it mild).

Another really good chicken-based soup is the white bean chicken chili at Simple Gourmet. You can check the menu on their website to see which day; they have it about once a week, and they usually run out by the end of the day.
