Brunch buffet anywhere in the city.

I'm looking for someplace to go for brunch that is special/different. Not worried about price, just want it to be worth the price. . . if I'm paying a ton, that's fine if I walk away thinking yikes that was wonderful. Don't have any nationality reservations, we like most every kind of food that is.

It's been a while since I've been to the Four Seasons for the Sunday buffet brunch, but the times I was there, I felt like it was special enough to justify the expensive tab.

The next buffet brunch in my future is Shaw's, which has been recommended by many here.

I was just at the Four Seasons for brunch last weekend. It was as good as it's ever been. Some pretty nice jamon iberico sliced on a Berkel was a highlight.

Four Seasons has never failed to impress me. We were dragged to the Signature room a few months ago. Ended up being as expensive as the Four Seasons but the food was simply not worth it (great view, though). I've never felt I was not getting value at the Four Seasons.

The Signature Room is $45, and last time I checked, Seasons was around $60-65, IIRC. I'm not disagreeing with your statement about Seasons being the better value due to much much MUCH better food, although the view is the thing at the Signature Room.

The Lobby at the Pen also does a fairly lavish Sunday brunch, although it's priced around the same as Seasons, and Seasons gets the nod for food in that comparison too.

I have not been to Sunday brunch at NoMI in the Park Hyatt, but the menu on their website implies that it's a buffet ($55).

Beware, all three of these restaurants at luxury hotels (not the Signature Room, but these other three) do special brunch buffets on special occasions (e.g. Easter, Mother's Day) and they typically charge around $110. Yes, per person.

I recall getting socked with extra charges for juice and some other things. We ended up paying $75/person by the time we were done. It was worth about 1/3 of that. On the other hand, the Seasons brunch was worth every penny.

Yes, the view is the thing, but I promise that we take your dining experience very seriously as well as what we execute for brunch, if we fall short we do want to know. Feel free to contact me via email with the details of your dining experience (pss@signatureroom.com). Unless you're talking about booze, we do not tack on for coffee, juice or soft drinks at brunch and it would not be right on our part if that did happen.

At Chicago Gourmet this past weekend, I asked Ryan LaRoche, the Chef de Cuisine at NoMI, about this. He replied that their brunch offers a choice of entrees (pick one), listed on page 3 of their website menu, along with various stations of their AYCE buffet, listed on page 2.

I see that the price is now $60.

Ok, well since you're not worried about price, there really is only one answer for this ? If you want the best, go to the 4 seasons brunch on sundays. 72.00 a person, and yes, worth every penny if you can believe that! Check out their brunch offerings on their website. Although it's twice the price of even the high end vegas hotel brunch buffets it's as good as it gets, nuff said. Surprisingly I snatched up 4 groupons for the 4 seasons restaurant which I used for their brunch, too bad I didn't get more!

I'll second this rec. Whether or not you're a seafood fan, its a great option. You're not going to get the ambiance of the Four Seasons if that's a priority, but the food quality is very high & I like the more casual atmosphere.
