I live in Villa Park. Sadly, Tierra Grill, home of delicious Mexican food, including the best Al Pastor tacos in the world, is closed. I like Chicks 'n' Salsa in Glen Ellyn, but can anyone recommend some places of that type: really good, not too expensive, in the Elmhurst/Villa Park/Lombard area and just outside of it? Not just Mexican, any kind of food. I just can't afford really expensive. I love the kinds of places Steve Dolinsky has in 'Something you just eat' on his blog - places like that.

    Thanks!

Westmont isn't that far away. Taco Grill on Ogden has pastor off the spit as well as a salsa bar that features about a dozen different salsa. Katy's Dumplings has excellent hand pulled noodles. Neither of these places are expensive and both have great food. Zenwich in Elmhurst does creative asian inspired sandwiches. Rosticeria Los Fernandez is also in Elmhurst, they have smoked chicken that is flavorful along with some other Mexican specialties.

There is a lot more information on these specific places as well as in towns you are requesting if you search the forum.

When Desi Grill on Roosevelt just W of Myers is on, it's really on. Hadn't been there in a while, went in a few weeks ago, I was not as impressed as usual. Hopefully just an off night. Chicken Boti Naan roll, and a chili chicken lunch box is my normal order for two.

An easy way to search the forum is to just use google. If you type in site:lthforum.com search topic in the text box it will look for any mention of that one this site.

So if you want to look up Lombard you would just do "site:lthforum.com 'Lombard'"

For good breakfasts, and particularly omelettes (yes, to the feta!) done well (at a reasonable cost), try Christopher's on York Rd:

    691 N York Rd
    Elmhurst, IL 60126
