Birrieria Jalisco (not to be confused with Birrieria Estilo Jalisco) has a history among some lthers, but has been mentioned only briefly in a few other threads (e.g.,
here.)
For the sake of thoroughness, and because I think this place deserves it, I thought I'd start a dedicated thread.
I was in the area today and had time (and stomach) only to drop in for a quick bite. But the goat birria taco I had did me quite right. $1.50. Wonderfully rich roasted, pulled goat meat. Standard onion and cilantro topping. All wrapped in a double-layer of not-housemade-but-still-satisyfing corn tortilla. Two table salsas, both medium heat -- the verde pleasantly vegetal, the roja with notes of charred chilis.
They have an awning that, if memory and mediocre Spanish serves, proclaims: "No somos lo único pero sí somos lo mejor."
I wouldn't go so far as calling them the best, but I'd say they are definitely worth a stop if you are nearby.
