    Hi all,

I'm originally from Massachusetts and I'm studying here in Chicago. Back home one of my favorite meals is a roast beef sandwich with cheese and sauce, the kind like you can get at Kelly's in Revere. Is there any place to get this sandwich in Chicago?

    Thanks,

    Kyle

Haven't noticed anything unique about the roast beef sandwiches in New England, but I'd be interested to know.

Meantime, you could do a lot worse than Manny's. viewtopic.php?f=28&t=3722&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Perry's also roasts their own. Me, I'd do as the Romans do, as it were, and explore Italian beef. Portillos has a beef on croissant with cheese sauce. A hot mess, but oddly compelling.

Just north of Chicago, and I haven't had it, but Al's Deli in Evanston makes a roast beef sandwich with blue cheese dressing. They also make a roast beef sandwich with Swiss cheese and béarnaise.

I do enjoy the roast beef W/ bleu cheese dressing from Al's Deli, but it is a cold sandwich, which may or may not be what the OP is looking for.

I went to Boston this summer, and actually went to the Kelly's in Revere... Wow what a place! Great roast beef with horseradish and amazing lobster rolls. Sorry but there is nothing like that here for either, I've been looking myself! I'd suggest trying to make one yourself you'll have better luck that way.
I'm not picky, I just have more tastebuds than you... ; )
