2 WEEK OLD NEW PLACE. I JUST FOUND THIS NEW PLACE ON 11-18-10. ITS THE OLD BEE STREET PUB IN ZION IL. SUPERB GRILL 3077 SHERIDAN RD.224-789-7587. A BBQ GUY HAS STARTED A VERY NEW PLACE. I HEARD HE IS A SMOKED BBQ RIB GUY WITH SOME MAD SKILLS SO WENT BY, WOW THIS WAS PRETTY GOOD. THE GUY HAS SOME TALENT. I LIKE SMOQUE IN CHICAGO AND ASHLEYS IN MILWAUKEE WI. AS MY STANDARD BBQ RIB JOINTS. THIS JUST MAY BE MY NEW SMOKED RIB PLACE IF IT HAS THE SAME GOOD RIBS TIME AND TIME AGAIN. I KNOW EVERY ONE HAS AN IDEA OF "GOOD BBQ" WHICH IS AS WIDE AS THE OCEAN BUT I WANTED TO SPREAD THE WORD. I HEARD A GUY TALKING ABOUT THIS PLACE AND I GOOGLED IT. THE WEB SITE IS BIG, JUST SHOW ME THE MENU PLEASE. THE BOTTOM LINE IS ITS NEW AND I LIKED IT.

    Hi,

Thanks for the information on the BBQ. I hope to make it up there soon.

Meanwhile, could you look over this thread on Lake County soulfood restaurants. Almost all mentioned are gone. I have never been to C&J'S RESTAURANT, which suggested it might be related to Aunt Obie's. If you have any information to contribute to this thread, I would appreciate it.

As for writing everything in capital letters, it is hard to read.

    Regards,
    Cathy2

I haven't been to this place and doubt that I will.
I have been seriously disappointed too many times in this type of place.
Hillary's is superb and has multiple locations and all locations seem to provide good Q over the 30 years I have been purchasing thier food.
    I don't go anyplace else.-Dick

    Hi,

If Hillery's used any wood, I might be more impressed. It is cooked exclusively over charcoal briquets. Their BBQ is the type where the sauce is needed to overcome the lingering charcoal taste.

North Chicago, Waukegan and Zion would seem to areas where you should find more BBQ than is actually there.

I will give Superb Grill a try when I am up in the Zion sometime. From reading the website, it appears they began as BBQ caterers who evolved into a restaurant.

    Regards,
    Cathy2

Photos in the web site photo gallery indicate that Superb Grill is cooking over charcoal briquettes too.

BECAUSE OF MY EYE SIGHT I FIND THAT ALL CAPS IS THE BEST FOR ME. THE POST IS TO LET PEOPLE KNOW THAT SOMETHING NEW IS OUT THERE. IS THIS FORUM THAT PETTY. I THOUGHT THIS WAS ABOUT FOOD AND NOT ABOUT PERFECT WRITING. I DONT JUDGE A FOOD PLACE BY HOW THE NENU IS WRITTEN. PEOPLE LIKE LUVSTOEAT SHOULD JOIN A PRO WRITING FORUM AND GET OFF LTH. ITS MY FIRST POST BECAUSE I THOUGHT THE PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT IT. I MIGHT HAVE NEVER FOUND IT MY SELF. I SEEK OUT BBQ ALL OVER THE US AND THIS AREA WHERE I LIVE HAS SO LITTLE BBQ. I HAVE HAD BIG EDS, CAPT PORKYS, FAMUS DAVES, TEXAS ROAD HOUSE AND MR RIB NEW IN KENOSHA AND I THINK THIS PLACE IS VERY GOOD. AS LONG AS SUPERG GRILL IS AROUND I WILL BE GETTING MY BBQ THERE.

I'm sorry that writing in all caps is necessary because of a medical issue, but in terms of internet etiquette, writing in all caps is interpreted as the writer yelling, not to mention it is hard to read, so you can see, er, understand, how this would cause a misunderstanding. Maybe in the future, anywhere you post for the first time, you should disclose the reason behind it to avoid future issues.

    Hi,
I just noticed your name is very similar to the person who post the new Geocaching sites in my area
Are you one in the same?

Trying to figure out the menu...lunch specials BLT wrap, steak and chicken wraps and burgers? No bbq...$11.00 steak sammy and $20.00 full slab dinner, I am guessing this joint is more of a "grill" than a sweet smelling pit house? Been wrong before so i dont know, anyone hit this place up recently? They doing babys or spares?
