Gastropubs, Gastrolounges and "Gastroraunts"?

The Chicago Bar Project has put together an article on the gastro movement and a list of Chicago's ever-growing lineup of gastropubs, gastrolounges and what we're calling "gastroraunts". I know avid Chicago foodies, like me, wouldn't want to miss trying some of these gems, but I'm sure I've omitted a worthy spot or 6. Gastroraunts? What are those, restaurants that serve food?

I first read it as "Gastronauts". Like people who drink Tang and eat food from tubes or something.

A Gastroraunt: a restaurant that has adopted a pub-like persona in terms of food and drink, but lacks a tavern license to serve their fare until the wee hours of the morning.

Wouldn't Revolution be a brewpub, not a gastropub (whatever that is). I don't really care about labels, but if you're putting breweries in a list of gastropubs you should probably add Goose Island to the list, particularly with their recent focus on food.

I heartily second including Goose Island. The menu change was dramatic, and the quality of their food is miles from what it once was.

I think Rootstock should also be included.

Is there a reason Prairie Moon wasn't listed, or for that matter, Yardhouse?

Count me as an Antigastroenteritisan Gastrorauntnaut.

Rootstock is an excellent suggestion and Goose Island is probably worth a fresh look. Trying to limit the list to Chicago proper, which is why some fine suburban establishments might not appear.
