A friend tipped me off to this place (at 8821 Ogden, Brookfield) with the promise of a great bowl of chili. At 2.49 for 10 ounces, (or 4.49 for 16) this was a bowl to be reckoned with. All meat, no beans. Shredded, as opposed to cubed or ground beef. The spicing was complex, with no one flavor overpowering any others. And, it had a good bite to it. All in all, a very good find. Also, I tried the four inch beef sandwich. This was the biggest beef I have ever had. It makes a beef at Michael's on North Avenue look look like a child's portion. It was also a very good beef. Tender meat, good gravy and good sweet peppers for, as I remember, 3.49. Fries are fresh cut and pretty tasty. They also have 25 different burger and chicken sandwiches. plus a bunch of home made soups. The place is a small stand with about a dozen stools. And be warned that the eating area is unheated. Other than that, I think that this place is my new go to chili place.

The exact name and adress of the place is

    Chicago Burgerwurks
    8819 Ogden Ave, Brookfield
    (708) 387-2333

It has been mentioned in a threads previously including this one

They do a very good job with the soups and the owned has just opened up another location a couple doors east called Chicago Soup and Sandwich Wurks which has a half dozen or so soups and a concise menu of breakfasts and sandwiches.

Last time I stopped in some of the local kids were talking to the owner about the Gigantor which is something the kids dreamed up and put on you tube.

BTW Lyons Township seems to have, aside from glutenous students, a really fine AV program. I listen to their radio station anytime I am in the area.
