Any guesses about how the whole ticket thing is going to play out if they are indeed opening (day after tomorrow)? Either they need to sell some tickets fast, or announce how a soft opening is going to work, or I see a mob forming Wednesday night. Even if they don't actually open on Wed., I still can imagine a bunch of people showing up because of this tweet.

The double-thread nature of this discussion can be confusing, and the thing is, this thread was started before well before the construction even began, and the other thread is now recording actual food eaten at the restaurant. Because of that, I actually think the other thread may have a longer life and more utility, but both threads serve a different and valuable purpose.

I'm sure they've sold all the tickets they need to sell, and if people want to wait around outside to see if they can cage a table, good luck to them. My strategy is, I'm going to wait until Aviary opens and then park myself there and hope to get a table at Next if one (or even a seat at one) opens up.

Has Next been contacting people on their list to purchase tickets? I thought that I was fairly high up on that list, and haven't been contacted.

From a Facebook post on their page 6 hours ago...

That makes sense to me. The friends, family and others dining there now constitute both the soft opening, as such, as well as, spread out over the next few weeks, a sort of useful frame work for when tickets are released to the public. It'll force ticket buyers to stagger their reservations, since no doubt the first few days (weeks?) will already be at least in part booked up, if that makes sense.
