We're looking for a more traditional sushi spot for dinner tonight. Something anywhere between Paulina/North & Armitage/Western.

    BYO is always a plus!

    Thanks in advance...

In Bucktown/Wicker Park I have been to both Coast and Mirai. Not sure what you mean when you say "traditional"? Anyway, both are good, Coast is BYO and Mirai has reasonably pricing for alcohol. Both take reservations, and you will need them for either place on Saturday night. I've found it easier to get into Mirai on short notice (prob due to the BYO). Mirai has an upstairs lounge where they also serve, downstairs is normal table, chairs and sushi bar. The upstairs lounge is a bit more romantic, make sure to ask if you can sit there when you make your reservation, if that's something you want.

While Mirai is out of your referenced area, it's not far out of it, and easy walk from North ave, or you could take the Damen bus

I second Mirai; but if you're able to go just a bit afield still in that general axis (to Ukrainian Village), Arami is awesome.

Quasi-off-topic, but is there a higher concentration than normal of sushi spots in Wicker Park-Ukrainian Village? I'm thinking new places (Arami, Sea Dog, the second Kin) within walking distance of the many standbys, good and bad (Mirai, Bob San, Usagi-Ya, Butterfly, Kyu, Makisu, the first Kin). Even though some have died (Blu Coral, that depressing place across from Mirai), it seems like there's either an insatiable hunger for uncooked fish in these parts, or else this is a profitable type of restaurant in a neighborhood that attract 25-35 year olds.
