I was in the area around 3700 Montrose the other day and a Mexican or Salvadoran restaurant caught my eye. It was on a corner, I believe, with a red awning. A yellow banner announced that they now have pupusas and ceviche, and a lunch special, which I'm pretty sure was $5. It is most likely on Montrose, Lawrence or Elston between Cicero and Pulaski.

Any idea what the name of this place is?

You made it too difficult for us. Mayan Sol is Guatemalan (though pan-Central-American would be an accurate description, as I recall from a long-ago visit). And it's east of Pulaski. Here's a photo from a few months ago.

The banner reads: Special lunch. Chicken / steak. Tues thru Saturday. 5.50 11AM - 5PM. Now we serve pancakes, pupusas Salvadoreñas & ceviche.

Okay, I was a bit off. But I was only driving by, and since I drive like an asshole, that was some pretty good information. But I saw the sign for ceviche and $5.50 lunch special and thought, I bet I can make it here on my lunch break.
