I'm not sure if Rockford is considered Chicagoland or not, so if this should be moved please do so.
Living near Rockford usually makes me thankful I get to the city for work regularly. Dining choices is one of those reasons for sure as the area is lacking IMO. Social helps ease that pain.
I've been a regular here for awhile and usually enjoy the cocktails and small plates on the way home from work once a week or so. Yesterday I had what was probably the best pork chop I've ever had so thought I should post in case anyone was in the area and wanted to check it out. The chop itself was brined for 2 or 3 days (can't remember which) grilled, and finished with a pan sauce with cider from Edwards Orchard. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. It was really delicious. I also had the housemade pasta with heirloom tomato sauce which was really good as well.
They are local whenever possible and I've delt with a few of the purveyors, so I know where lots of the food comes from. I've eaten most of the menu but usually focus on the cocktails, small plates and snacks. The cocktails are great, and the staff is really friendly. If you find yourself in the area it's really worth checking out.
