We have our annual fantasy baseball banquet for 12-15 guys and like a small private, semi private room and typically at an italian place. Any suggestions? All guys, so big on an old traditional type place. Not too pricey. North or Northwest side ideal

    Thanks!

addendum: Looking for a more upscale place than a pizza joint.

not my favorite by a long, long shot, but Club Lucky has a private room that'd be the right size for you, and the food is OK. Others like it a lot.

I've done a few parties at Mia Francesca's that I thought were well priced.

Not sure what qualifies as "north" and it's been a few years since I've been there, but Vinci on Halsted by Steppenwolf had a private room that is probably the right size for your group.

Ha! we've been there several times and liked it......perfect sized room, in fact having my mother's 90th there in a few weeks.

Keep 'em coming.......just what I'm looking for

By North I mean North side of Chicago including Northwest

I remember checking out Club Lucky's years back for this and unless they have a new room, it was too small and it looked like an interrogation room at a police station, very stark and they had a coat rack in it. To be fair, I'm going to revisit it. Food decent, atmosphere fun, may work....thanks

I had my rehersal dinner for my wedding at Club Lucky since the church was right around the corner. It fit 30 people. Everything was excellent there and the staff was great. You can be noisy there. Lucia's may let you have the place, it's BYOB up on North Ave. Although not Italian, Frontier has private rooms and a good menu for a large group, and lots of TV's.

I should mention, they have a larger private room as I'm sure you were in and a very small 'closet' that I was shown.

Thanks for other ideas will check out

Quartino has a private room...right in the middle of the dining room. Once the doors are closed, it really does feel private and is perfect for a celebration among friends.

Not sure how others here feel about Quartino, but my friends and I loved it when we were students at Northwestern. They know how to make a Negroni, plates are cheap, tasty and sharable, and the pizza is some of the better thin crust (approximating good NYC pizza) I've had in Chicago. Also, its a scene, which means plenty of eye candy.
