Nohea Cafe opened a few months ago in West Loop at Madison and Ada, and I finally swung in to check it out. This is a cute little place, serving coffee, espresso and the like, along with a large selection of sandwiches, salads, and soup. They also sell deli meat (standard Boar's Head, I believe) and cheese by the pound.
What a nice neighborhood gem this was. Very friendly staff, a few tables to eat inside and out, and some really interesting sandwiches. I ordered the pancetta, blue cheese, arugula, pear and fontina sandwich (the Perfect Pear) and everything was balanced wonderfully.
With the other interesting sandwiches on the menu, I can see this place becoming a huge favorite of West Loop locals for picking up lunch (and I think they also do breakfast). Also, while I didn't get them, I regretted not picking up a bad of what look to be housemade potato chips - regular, bbq, or sweet potato.
