I wonder what will become of that magnificent and eponymous "U" shaped bar? It would make a great addition to any restaurant, perfect for a brewery tasting room. Of course, they would have to remove the roof and use a crane to get that massive thing out of there.

I have occasion to patronize that CVS, and I think they can use the competition. Every time I'm in line there, the transactions between customers and cashiers seem to be a combination of brain surgery and rocket science for both parties involved.

Oh, yes. Terrible staff at that CVS. Many are holdovers from when it was an Osco, and still seem bitter and resentful - and take it out on the customers. Again, don't think that Walgreen's didn't take notice of this in its site scouting!

Ok, back to the food discussion, please.

    Hi,

On my way to Poochies last week, I passed UBAA or dare I say what is left. It was in the process of being demolished.

    Regards,

    Regards,

Once more, I wonder what (if anything) they did with the beautiful bar? I always said the thing was so massive, they would have to tear the building down to remove it. I really need to get those images from the first post working again. There needs to be some sort of record of that place. Think of all the famous Northwestern Alumni that got smashed there, back when Evanston was dry.

    Hi,

The west end of the building was down. The east end where the bar is located was not yet. Nobody was actively working the site when I passed. It may be they are attempting to remove the bar once the back wall is down. I'm just guessing, of course.

    Regards,
